Portrait Painting is Easy
I create oil paintings from professional
photographs, as do most portrait artists. The photographers I work
with are extremely talented and make it possible for me to paint a
Masterpiece even though you and I may never meet. Few people have the
time or the patience to sit and pose for a painting today.
It is important that the photograph be of high
quality in order to create a classically beautiful oil painting. No
matter where you live, you will most likely be able to work with one
of my professional colleagues. Through a number of photographic
associations, I have global contacts. Of course, you are welcome to
work with your own photographer as well. All I will need is a
copyright release from the studio.

Paintings from Old
Photographs
Do you have treasured photographs from the past
that you would like transformed into a fine portrait in oil? Perhaps
it is your father as a young boy, grandmother as a bride or a
beloved family pet. Memorial oil portrait paintings can be created
from timeless images of the past. Permission to use the photograph
in creating an oil painting must be obtained from the studio if it
has copyright protection. Look for a small © on the back.
Gallery of Portrait Paintings
Many religious, government, educational
institutions and corporations as well as families create galleries
of oil portraits that will last for hundreds of years. They have a
visual historical record that shows they care about their heritage.
Photographs from diverse sources can be painted with similar
backgrounds, cropped to a pleasing size and made artistically
appealing. The prestige and power of fine art in the workplace,
public buildings or the home is made more meaningful through the
personal art of portrait painting.

enjoys a reputation as an international award winning
Master Artist and Photographic Craftsman. For the past
twenty years her works have hung in major expositions in
cities throughout the United States. Her paintings are on
public display at the International Photography Hall of
Fame in Oklahoma, at the Epcot Center in
Florida, at universities, major corporations, and in
countless private collections.
The
artists award winning paintings are published in the
PPA Loan Collection Book series. In 1999 she received
the TPPA President's Award for portrait painting.
Twice she has been named International Color Artist of
the Year, once in 1991 and again in 2001.
Eight degrees in the fine arts have been merited to La
Von. She is a published author and an educator, teaching
portrait painting privately and at several universities.
The artist is active in seven prestigious art and
